CAMPING AT HILLEND
The campsite consists of 250 pitches set within 4 fields over14 acres of level or very gentle sloping meadow. All fields have easy access to the magnificent Rhosilli Bay which is 200-300 yards away.
There is a vibrant feel to the site and although we are family orientated, well behaved young people are welcome but we generally only accept under 18's with parental supervision.

The facilities at Hillend are continually being improved and are, we believe, one of the reasons Hillend has been listed as one of the top 10 U.K Campsites in both ‘The Times’ and ‘The Observer’.

The proximity of the beach makes it an ideal location for all water sports enthusiasts, in particular, canoeists, windsurfers, anglers and especially surfers.

Leave the campsite and explore the breath-taking Gower coastline along the peninsula’s comprehensive footpath network. Starting off on the Wales Coastal Path which runs alongside the campsite. Remember to be back before the sun goes down, you won't want to miss it
-
Please read all of our campsite rules and understand our booking terms & cancellation policies before you book to make sure this is the right site for you. In particular please note the following:
-
Opening times - we are open from April 1st (earlier if Easter falls in March) if ground conditions are suitable. We close at the end of September. Updates on opening / closing times will often appear on the 'latest' tab.
-
Arrivals - we don't take arrivals on a Sunday but otherwise from 12 noon onwards.
-
Departures - in readiness for new arrivals and to facilitate ground maintenance, you must vacate your pitch by 11am on your day of departure.

-
Touring caravans - we don't take touring caravans at Hillend.
-
Bookings - all bookings should be made online in advance. as casual 'rock ups' cannot usually be accommodated especially from May - August inclusive. You cannot book and arrive the same day but you are welcome to ring or email to check availability.
-
Re-scheduling - if you make a mistake with your dates or are unable to honour your booking we will permit rescheduling, but only once and always within the terms of our cancelation policy.
-
Cancellations - please refer to our booking T&C's for our general policy but please note deposits are non-refundable except within the 'cooling off' period after you have booked. We do not offer refunds if you cancel 14 days or less prior to your arrival date, only rescheduling within the same calendar year. If you cancel 5 days or less prior to your day of arrival ( calculated by counting back 5 days from 12pm on your due arrival date) we offer no refunds or rescheduling.
-
Minimum stay - in May, June, July, and August we take minimum 2 night bookings and 3 nights on Bank Holidays which must always include the Friday, Saturday & Sunday nights.
-
Pitches - our pitches are generous in size being generally 11m x 11m although 'standard' pitches are smaller. Please remember however that our minimum spacing requirements ( see below) will reduce the usable space so you must not fill the pitch.
-
Minimum spacing - Where pitches adjoin a neighbouring pitch in separate occupation you must set up 2m or more inside the pitch markings. This 2m rule must be observed in order that we comply with minimum spacing requirements. If this is disregarded please expect to be asked to re-pitch.
-
Pitch numbers - our pitches are not numbered so the booking reference you will receive is just that - a booking reference not a pitch number.
-
Pitch allocation - pitches are allocated on arrival and you cannot book specific pitches on the booking page. Requests to pitch next to friends can be made on arrival but If you are a large group of families or friends wanting to pitch together we will do our best to accommodate this, It will help us plan for your group if you email a full list of the names in your group around 5 days prior to arrival. Alternatively make a multiple booking in the same name which can be done by adding further pitches before you checkout and pay the deposit
-
Family groups - we will permit no more than 4 families to pitch together except with prior approval.
-
Non family groups. - groups over 6 only with prior approval. No under 18's except with prior approval.
-
BBQ's - conventional charcoal and gas BBQ's are permitted but not disposables. Charcoal BBQ's must be a minimum of 12" above the ground unless used with a scorch mat.
-
Fire pits / stoves etc - any appliance that generates downward heat can only be used with a scorch mat which can be purchased at reception if you don't bring one. Any appliance that sits too close to the ground such as firebox stoves or similar are not permitted even with a scorch mat..
-
Only 1 tent or campervan / motorhome per pitch - we do not permit more than 1 unit of accommodation per pitch even if the number of campers being accommodated is within the number we permit per pitch. An exception is where a campervan or motorhome chooses a 2 man or pup tent (for occupation by children of the same family) in lieu of an awning/gazebo/event shelter.
-
We will not permit set-ups that are too big for our pitches. - what is permitted is clearly stated on the pricing & booking pages.
